If you are interested in adding one of our puppies to your family, here is how the process works:
1) Fill out our puppy application HERE
2) We will get back to your application and schedule a Facetime interview to meet, go over your application and answer any questions you may have.
3) If moving forward is a good fit for both parties, you secure your spot on the waiting list by putting down the $500 non refundable deposit.
4) The second part of the deposit is due when you chose your puppy. $200.00 will be due on Puppy Picking day (if you're wondering about how pick order works, there's an answer to that lower down on our FAQ page).
5) From the beginning up until homing day we will share picture and video updates of your pup on our social media so you can watch them grow!
6) The last half of payment for puppy will be due on homing day (week 10).
If you are applying after the puppies are born and Puppy Picking has already occurred, following an application, interview and approval, to reserve your puppy the payment is divided into two parts, $700.00 deposit is paid after the above steps have been completed, and the remainder is paid on Homing Day (10 weeks).
See 'What do puppies go home with' below to see more on what comes with the purchase of your pet.

After 8 weeks of age or once their ear posting has commenced.

By the time your pup goes home with you, they will have age appropriate vaccinations for parvovirus, hepatitis, adenovirus & distemper as well as UTD deworming and microchipped. Each pup will have their ears cropped, tail docked and dewclaws removed. If you would like your puppy all natural, please advise as soon as they are born.
All litters go home with our 1-year Health Guarantee that covers any genetic issues with hips, eyes or heart, and have been raised on the finest diet once they start weaning.
Each pup goes home with a little goodie bag including:
A collar, some treats, a sample of our favourite holistic shampoo bar, a few play-toys, a blanket that smells like mama & their littermates, an antler for teething, and some other fun treats.
Also included is 30 days of FREE pet insurance through Trupanion, and our NEW 15+ page guide on the first 24 hours with your puppy that helps you have a seamless & stress-free transition!
On the training front, our 8 week old pups go home almost completely litter box trained, sound trained, well-socialized by mamma, had lots of human socialization with a variety of people / ages, undergone ENS for the first 3 weeks (early neurological stimulation) to help them adapt to stress, receive extensive grooming exposure (blowdryer, baths, nail trimming, brushing, etc), and been imprinted from 4 weeks old and on that calm behavior is rewarded with food, attention, and affection.
Apart from all that’s mentioned above, it is our priority at The DobFather to provide helpful, quick and easy communication from the moment we begin working together, to well beyond Homing Day. We offer lifetime breeder support & 1:1 mentorship, from trouble-shooting, recommendations, training tips, and everything in between, we are just a text or email away and eager to help.

In order to hold a spot on any litter you will need to have completed a short Facetime interview with us. This is to get-to-know each other better, go over all the details and answer any questions you have. If we're a good fit and moving forward is a go, you put down the $500 (non refundable) deposit. That is what secures you a spot on the waiting list or if the litter is born a $700.00 (non-refundable) deposit. .
Now this is where Pick Order comes into play...
If you were the first family to complete the above process, that makes you 1st Pick. When the litter is born and we have Puppy Picking, being 1st Pick means you get to choose between all the puppies in the litter.
2nd Pick means you get to choose between all the puppies EXCEPT what 1st Pick chose.
3rd Pick gets to choose between all puppies EXCEPT what 1st & 2nd family chose.
And it goes on like that the whole way down TILL last pick.
Being last pick means you DON'T get to choose between the puppies, but get the remaining puppy.
For as long as we've been doing this, every family from 1st pick to Last Pick have always gotten EXACTLY the puppy they desired.
Every puppy is somebody's fist pick :)

Spay/Neuter your puppy by 18-24 months of age. Your puppy is a large breed puppy and should not be altered before their growth plates have closed which is somewhere between 18-24 months of age. Delaying spaying/neutering your puppy until their growth plates have closed offer many health benefits. There has been recent research supporting that physical health issues are directly associated with altering a puppy before the growth plates close and their body has matured. High on the list is a significantly heightened risk of certain joint disorders. Researchers say the reproductive hormones have important systemic roles. These hormones influence muscle mass, tendon, and ligament strength – and YES, they tell the puppy’s bones when to stop growing. Altering a puppy too early (removing these hormones) can cause the puppy’s legs to grow longer, produce less muscle mass, weaker tendon and ligament strength and early weight gain. All this puts undue stress on your dogs’ joints. Please research for yourself the benefits of delaying spaying/neutering your puppy until his growth plates have closed.

The Doberman being one of the top 5 smartest breeds on earth, needs positive and balanced training
What is Balanced Training?
Balanced training is the belief that dogs learn best when using a mix of positive reinforcement training as well as aversive, corrective -based training.
A balanced trainer might use treats to reward a dog when teaching loose-leash walking (positive reinforcement), but they also might use a prong collar and resort to correcting when the dog pulls by a quick jerk of the collar (positive punishment).
Balanced trainers might use a variety of tools with their canine students, from those in the positive reinforcement sector like clicker and body harnesses, to aversive devices like, prong, and e-collars.

Depending on where you are located, I can make some recommendations. I work closely with a few trainers in the area.

Yes! The trainers I work with have board and train programs customized to the dog and people’s needs. I work closely with these trainers and can coordinate the process. Please let me know if this is something you are interested in.

It is important to know that the doberman is the only dog in the world created to be a personal protector. That being said, proper training is required to have a balanced and obedient dog. If you are wanting protection training, it is a mandatory 24 weeks training program and a lifelong commitment to training. This isn’t something that any trainer can do, please consult with me for trainer recommendations.

Many trainers will do virtual sessions, in this case, i can refer you. Another option is a board and train program. Please research the trainer and kennel, check references, do background checks, ensure they are qualified trainers and not only have credentials to train, but that they also compete in trials themselves. Ensure the safety of your new family member is your first concern.
